Lopez is a panelist in major arbitration administrative organizations, such as the AAA and ICDR, and the training and experience that qualifies him as an arbitrator also makes him an effective advocate to represent parties that have agreed to use arbitration to resolve a dispute.

Lopez believes that the benefits of arbitration in reducing the time and cost of obtaining disposition of a conflict can best be achieved by insuring that counsel for the parties fully understand how the process differs from litigation and are able to work cooperatively with the arbitrator in setting firm timelines, reducing or eliminating discovery by good-faith exchange of documents, and utilizing, where appropriate, written statements in lieu of direct testimony.  At the same time, Lopez fully appreciates and recognizes that the arbitration is a creation of the parties and the parties are entitled to fashion and adopt procedures within the scope of the arbitration agreement provided in their contract.
